Online Watch Party #10

Dumfries and Galloway Dance will be running monthly online watch parties, showcasing short pieces of contemporary dance while bringing together and developing audiences for dance across the region. Selected by a panel of independent dance experts, Dumfries and Galloway Dance will host a diverse mix of films over the next 12 months.

THIS MONTH WE’RE WATCHING:

Vinyl Frontier
By Tony Mills

Vinyl Frontier sees Room 2 Manoeuvre Artistic Director Tony Mills attempt to chart his journey through the world of dance with his sidekick, Lionel the Vinyl. Using hip hop, contemporary dance and physical theatre join them as they boldly flow through highs, lows and the unchartered course of one’s passion, embracing success and doing their best to dodge disaster. It’s hip hop, but not as you know it.

Where The Spiders Live
By Felix Watts & Holger Mohaupt

An abandoned paintball arena on the East Coast of Scotland is the stage for a young street dancer creating a choreography of memory and place. The dancer is part of a small group of young people in East Lothian meeting once a week after school to explore dance as a creative means to respond to the world that surrounds them.
