Are you aged 12 - 25 and interested in creative dance projects??
This month we are undertaking our most ambitious Dance Weekender yet - we’re making a piece of Dance for Camera in just two days!!!
During our Saturday workshop we will teach you everything you need to know in preparation for filming together. If you can’t make this, drop us a line and we will send you some online tutorials of the sequences.
On Sunday our dance artists, Emma and James, will drive to YOU - wherever you are in the region - and film you performing the sequences. We will then edit them together to create a piece of bespoke, regional dance for camera.
You can learn as many or as few of the sequences as you feel comfortable learning and we will film them until you feel happy with what we have captured.
You don’t have to have any dance experience, just a love for moving - we can teach you the rest!
If you are interested in being filmed for our Dance for Camera piece, we would ask you to find a brick wall near you that you could dance in-front of, and to find some casual clothes that you feel comfortable dancing in.
We will be in the areas below at the approximate time mentioned for filming:
10.00-11.00 Stranraer
11.30-12.30 Wigtown/ Newton Stewart
13.30-1430 Dumfries
1500-1600 Annan/ Gretna
If you live in another part of the region and want to be involved, please just let us know.
The above times have been mentioned because we work with young people in these areas already.
Here you will find details of all the events Dumfries and Galloway Dance are hosting and other opportunities happening across the region that support engagement with dance.
We currently do not have the capacity to search for all events taking place but would love to share what you are doing.
If you or your organisation have an event that you’d like to promote please fill in the form here or contact us here.
