What is the Summer Residency?
Every summer we offer two summer residencies where young people (aged 18-25) can come together to create a new piece of dance work, created by choreographers working in the dance industry.
We will work for one week in the west of the region and one week in the east, working from 10.00am - 4.00pm daily. The day will start with a dance class and then we will work towards a closing performance on the final day of the week. Dancers will learn some material and will be involved in creative tasks to develop more material.
Dancers will attend for the entire period, and be asked to contribute a small deposit that will be used to pay for costumes or prop materials. Bursaries are available for travel and for those for whom the fee may be a barrier to attending.
See our events page for more information, usually released in May each year, and to register.
