Dumfries and Galloway Dance is only worthwhile if we grow alongside and with consent from the community in the region. Whether you are a local dance artist, teacher, dance school owner, audience member or a resident who is yet to decide if dance is for them, we would love to get to know you and work together to build a stronger network for dance in the region.

Our work is not competitive or prescriptive, we believe there is space for everyone, for every dance style and every opinion about dance. We want to celebrate the different opportunities and perspectives that Dumfries and Galloway offers.

As a small, part-time team we are working slowly to ensure that everything we build can be sustained in the long term so it may take us a while to arrange a time to meet, but we are determined to be an active part of the community so please do say hello!

Annual Conversations

Every year we host annual conversations across the region, to meet residents of the region, share what we have been working on and to listen to what the local community would like to see happen in the future. As our work grows, we hope that these conversations can become a meeting point for everyone who is passionate about dance, as well as a space to celebrate all of the hard work taking place across the region by dance teachers, community organisers and participants.

Facebook Community

We know that there is a vast amount of dance activity that takes place across Dumfries and Galloway.
In the future, we hope to develop an effective website so that everyone can upload details of events that are taking place to ensure they reach everyone who may be interested in getting involved.

In the meantime, we have created a Facebook Community Group where everyone interested in and enthusiastic about dance can share, ask questions and connect.
