[DEADLINE PASSED] YDance: Project Y SCREEN 2021
/Project Y SCREEN is an exciting new programme offering young dancers aged 16 – 25 a unique experience to learn more about creating movement for camera and developing personal choreography skills in unique spaces.
Taking place from Monday 19th to Friday 30th July 2021, dancers will work online with YDance Artistic Director, Anna Kenrick, to create a unique dance piece to perform live over Zoom at the Project Y SCREEN Performance. To create this piece, dancers will connect with each other and develop their technique and creativity through the virtual studio.
More details on this opportunity, including how to apply, are at https://ydance.org/talent-development/project-y-screen-2021/
Dancers will also work with Natalia Barua, a leading dance film maker in Scotland who will work collaboratively with the dancers to create an original dance film which will be screened at the Project Y SCREEN Performance.
The performance will take place on Friday 30th July and will be open to all who wish to enjoy this exciting virtual show.
A typical Project Y SCREEN day will run from 10am -5pm. Each day dancers will take part in a technical warm up class followed by a range of creative and technical developmental sessions which will build movement for the live Zoom performance and the dance film. There will be time to work with other dancers in duets and trios, as a whole group, and time programmed away from the screen for dancers to work independently before sharing back to the group. Project Y SCREEN will allow dancers from all over the UK to connect with like-minded passionate dancers to create, dance and have fun!
