Intergenerational Performance Opportunity - Dance!
/In October 2021, local choreographer Emma Jayne Park (Cultured Mongrel) created an outdoor dance spectacle inspired by Climate Change Activism, Extinction Rebellion and Fridays for Futures (School Strike for Climate) to celebrate STORM coming to Dumfries. STORM - a ten metre tall goddess of the sea, created by the formidable puppeteering duo Symon Macintyre and Kim Bergsagel in response to the climate crisis.
However, due to illness this performance had to be postponed. We are now inviting anyone interested in dance, climate activism and working with others to join us as we perform the work in Dumfries town centre on Saturday 13th November at 3.30pm, prior to for the final UK screening of Penny Chivas's Burnt Out this year, followed by an opportunity to discuss the work with the artist.
Participants will be sent videos of the choreography when they sign up. Emma Jayne Park will then lead two rehearsals so that all participants feel confident for the performance.
