New Galloway
An opportunity for young people aged 12-18 in Dumfries and Galloway who love to dance to work with the brilliant Constant Vigier to create a new screen dance piece inspired by his 16:1 series, specifically for young people in the region.
You will be taught everything you need to know on the day, filmed and then Constant will make the dance video happen so you can share it with whoever you like - simple!! Everyone is welcome, no dance experience is required, just lots of energy and a willingness to learn.
Constant Vigier was born in Quimper, France. He studied ballet at the Conservatory of Rueil-Malmaison and graduated from the Paris Opera Ballet School and the School of the Hamburg Ballet. Since joining Scottish Ballet in 2013, Constant has created a number of works as an independent choreographer. These include creations for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the Edinburgh Military Tattoo and the Cadences Festival in Arcachon, France. His digital projects have been seen on platforms such as Nowness and the BBC.
Please reserve your place in advance as we expect high interest in the session.

Dumfries and Galloway Dance is on a mission to build a regional Youth Dance Company, offering young people who are curious about a career in dance the opportunity to learn more.
Sessions are open to anyone with a passion for dance, whether you have taken dance classes before or are self-taught. Together we will develop contemporary dance skills and create opportunities to perform – from screen dance to pop up dances! We will be running intensive week programmes during school holidays.
