An intergenerational outdoor dance performance, inspired by Climate Change Activism. For all ages.
In October 2021, local choreographer Emma Jayne Park (Cultured Mongrel) created an outdoor dance spectacle inspired by Climate Change Activism, Extinction Rebellion and Fridays for Futures (School Strike for Climate) to celebrate STORM coming to Dumfries. STORM - a ten metre tall goddess of the sea, created by the formidable puppeteering duo Symon Macintyre and Kim Bergsagel in response to the climate crisis.
However, due to illness this performance had to be postponed. We have now rescheduled this performance, and are now inviting anyone interested in dance and climate activism to join us in Dumfries town centre on Saturday 13th November at 3.30pm.
The performance will be followed by the final UK screening of Penny Chivas's Burnt Out this year, followed by an opportunity to discuss the work with the artist - see Burnt Out — DUMFRIES & GALLOWAY DANCE (dumfriesandgalloway.dance) for more details and tickets.
